Looking for a Body is an audiovisual installation that was exhibited at FEED Media Art Center during Chendo’s artist residency (July-August 2023).  Chendo used an analog modular synthesizer and eight tube TV monitors to create a multi-channel video and sound installation involving original spoken word poetry, electronic sound, and visuals.

Looking for a Body explores dissociation and the breakdown of communication between self and other, positioning the viewer as an active participant whose spatial relation shapes perception. Chendo’s physical body is deconstructed and reassembled as a fusion of repetitive moments; movement and integration invent materiality. The intimacy of direct address and portrait video grounds diverse instrumentals and visuals in a reimagined, fragmented body -- one that is characterized by a synthesis of conflicting internal dialogues.
